5. Reservation Requests and Booking Terms
5.1 Nature of Reservation Requests
Submitting a reservation request through the Website does not itself constitute a confirmed booking. A reservation is confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation (which may be sent by email) acknowledging acceptance of your request and specifying the booking reference, room type, dates, rate and any applicable conditions.
5.2 Eligibility to Make a Reservation
To make a valid reservation you must:
- be at least 18 years of age;
- provide accurate and complete personal and payment information;
- have legal authority to accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and any persons in your party; and
- not be attempting to circumvent any restriction or ban applicable to you under these Terms or otherwise.
5.3 Rates and Pricing

5.4 Payment
We accept payment by credit card and other methods specified during the booking process. By providing payment details you authorise us to charge the amount stated in your booking confirmation. You are responsible for ensuring that your payment details are accurate, current and authorised for the relevant transaction.
5.5 Changes, Cancellations and No-Show Policy
Specific cancellation, amendment and no-show policies applicable to your reservation will be set out in your booking confirmation. General conditions include the following:
- Flexible bookings: Cancellations made before the cancellation deadline stated in your confirmation will incur no charge. Cancellations made after that deadline, or failure to arrive without prior notice (no-show), may result in a cancellation fee equivalent to the first night's rate or the full booking value, as specified in your confirmation.
- Non-refundable bookings: Bookings made on a non-refundable basis are charged in full at the time of confirmation and are not eligible for refund, credit or amendment unless we are unable to honour the reservation.
- Group bookings: Group bookings of ten or more rooms are subject to separate group booking terms, which will be provided upon request.
- Force majeure: Where exceptional circumstances beyond our control prevent us from honouring a confirmed booking, we will notify you as soon as practicable and offer you an alternative date, a credit note or a full refund, as appropriate.
5.6 Check-In and Check-Out
Standard check-in and check-out times will be specified in your booking confirmation. Early check-in and late check-out may be available on request and may be subject to an additional charge. Valid government-issued photo identification is required at check-in for all guests.
5.7 Accuracy of Information
You are responsible for reviewing your booking confirmation carefully and notifying us promptly of any errors. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from inaccurate information submitted by you during the reservation process.
6. Age Restrictions
6.1 General Minimum Age
Velorian Estate Hotel is committed to providing a safe and compliant environment for all guests. General guests must be 18 years of age or older to make an independent reservation. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout their stay. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for the conduct and supervision of minors in their care.
6.2 Casino Minimum Age
Access to the casino facilities at Velorian Estate Hotel is strictly restricted to persons who are 21 years of age or older. This age restriction applies at all times and without exception. Valid government-issued photo identification establishing date of birth will be required before entry to the casino area is permitted. Any person who is unable to produce satisfactory identification will be refused entry.
This restriction applies to all areas designated as part of the casino, including gaming floors and any adjoining areas that are accessible only through the casino. We reserve the right to remove from the casino any person who we have reasonable grounds to believe is under the minimum age, or who has provided false identification.
6.3 Identification
Accepted forms of government-issued photo identification include:
- Australian passport;
- foreign passport;
- Australian driver licence or learner permit issued by a state or territory;
- Australian state or territory proof-of-age card; and
- such other forms of identification as we may accept at our discretion.
Photocopies, digital copies and screenshots of identification documents are not accepted in place of original documents.
7. Responsible Gaming
7.1 Our Commitment

Our staff are trained to direct guests to these resources on request. We maintain the right to refuse gaming access, or to remove a person from gaming areas, where we have reasonable grounds to believe that person is experiencing harm from gaming or is subject to a self-exclusion arrangement.
7.4 Exclusion of Excluded Persons
Entry to the casino area is prohibited for any person subject to a self-exclusion order or any other exclusion order lawfully issued under applicable Queensland legislation. It is the responsibility of an excluded person not to seek entry to restricted areas. We reserve all rights available to us to enforce exclusion orders.

Where you are accessing the Website from outside Australia, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws applicable to you. We make no representation that the Website or its content complies with the laws of any jurisdiction outside Australia.
13. Disputes
13.1 Informal Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute in connection with these Terms or the Website, we encourage you to contact us in the first instance so that we can attempt to resolve the matter informally. We will endeavour to acknowledge your complaint within five (5) business days and to provide a substantive response within twenty (20) business days.
13.2 Formal Dispute Resolution
If we are unable to resolve your complaint informally within a reasonable time, either party may pursue resolution through:
- mediation conducted by a mutually agreed accredited mediator, with costs shared equally unless otherwise agreed;
- the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) where the dispute falls within its jurisdiction; or
- any court of competent jurisdiction in Queensland.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interlocutory or injunctive relief from a court where circumstances reasonably require it.

14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any specific terms applicable to a particular service or promotion, constitute the entire agreement between you and with respect to your use of the Website and supersede all prior representations, communications and agreements relating to that subject matter.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court or tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable in whole or in part, that provision will be severed from these Terms to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14.3 Waiver
No failure or delay by us in exercising any right, power or remedy under these Terms constitutes a waiver of that right, power or remedy. A waiver of any breach of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.

You may not assign, transfer or sub-license any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
14.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations under these Terms to the extent that such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, civil unrest, labour disputes, failures of third-party infrastructure or other events of similar character.
14.6 Language
These Terms are written in English. Where a translation is provided for convenience, the English version prevails in the event of any inconsistency.
